Davis and went to work for the Farmer’s Home Administration as a loan officer and farm appraiser, working in several Northern California rural communities. In 1983 I moved to Chico to complete a Masters of Business Administration. While working on the MBA part time, I worked full time as a Residential Energy Auditor for PG&E. This involved evaluating and inspecting hundreds of homes including the attics and crawl spaces. I literally know houses from the inside out. Entering the real estate brokerage field in 1987 full time, I have consistently been a leading agent in the community. I have served in a leadership position with the local and state Association of Realtors, and continue to serve on several committees and boards. My first two years, I worked as a Mortgage Broker & learned the financial side of the business. I spent 1996 & early 1997 working as an Escrow Coordinator for a Broker Associate at RE/MAX of Chico. It was here that I learned the “nuts & bolts” of real estate, including putting together the file paperwork, explaining contracts to clients, writing up addenda, dealing with other real estate agents, setting appointments, & helping my employer close out escrows. I’ve had lots of practical experience in the construction & property management business doing labor tasks & picking up knowledge about different trades, & also how to manage property effectively from experienced property owners. In July of 1999, I went into sales full-time with FSBO Realty. Over the next few years, I refined my knowledge base, built a clientele, & in 2003 became a part owner in the corporation. In 2006 I became the Broker Designee in charge of file review, trouble shooting escrow problems for the agents, dealing with other offices in disputes, approving new listings, & being the “front man” for the office. Recently, my partners & I, after many years of work, caught the attention of the owners of Prudential California Realty. After several weeks of work, we agreed to merge the two companies to provide even better service to customers in the future. Working for Prudential is an exciting new phase of my career. I am involved in the local Association of Realtors as follows: -Member, Multiple Listing Service Committee -Member, Housing Opportunity Committee -Treasurer, Board of Realtors, Board Member -Member of the Executive Committee I’m also active in my neighborhood as a member of the Steering Committee for the Barber Neighborhood Association which is active in securing neighborhood planning for Southwest Chico.
